About
Vision – A world where everyone -whatever their income- can access good quality healthcare without facing financial hardship.
What I do – Provide politically informed technical assistance to governments and their partners in health financing.
I work with academia (in the UK and in LMICs) and with INGOs, bilateral and multi-lateral donors (from MSF to the World Bank, the Global Financing Facility (GFF), WHO, UNAIDS, the European Union, the Dutch Government, GIZ, and FCDO). My clients, or those I work for, are the governments, and the populations, of those countries.
‘For the past 20 years, I have loved working on ensuring that everyone can access healthcare across 25+ countries in Africa and Asia’.
My expertise:
Health financing/ economics - I work on the diagnosis, policy development and evaluation of all health financing approaches and strategies and focus on how to raise resources to achieve Universal Health Coverage (UHC), how and where to pull these resources, how to allocate them, and how to ensure alignment between provider payments and UHC objectives. I work on all health systems bottlenecks, including Public Finance Management issues, in tackling these health financing questions.
Political economy analysis - As applied to health systems, and often more specifically health financing reforms, helping us understand why evidence based technical solutions fail in their design or implementation.
Operational and desk research - Including all forms of literature reviews (scoping, rapid, systematic) and qualitative research.
